Fillers

Dermal Fillers:

Dermal fillers are composed of biocompatible hyaluronic acid. Filler treatments are a great way to achieve non-surgical facial rejuvenation. We can restore lost volume, improve the appearance of lines and correct asymmetry. This results in an immediate younger, softer and smoother look.

Popular areas for filler treatments include:

  • Lips
  • Cheeks
  • Cheekbones
  • Nasolabial folds (“parenthesis”)
  • Under eye hollows
  • Jawline
  • Chin
  • Hands
  • Ear lobes

What to expect:

Topical numbing cream is applied to the treatment areas.  After that takes effect, the areas are cleaned and the injections are performed. The filler itself also has lidocaine in it, which makes the treatment very tolerable. You will see immediate results from the fillers. You will be given ice to apply at the end of your treatment. Depending on which filler is used, results can last 6-24 months. Appointment time is typically 45 minutes.

What should I do before my appointment?

There is always a risk of swelling and/or bruising with filler treatments, so it is important to schedule them at least 2 weeks before any special occasions. To reduce the risk of bruising, avoid aspirin, NSAIDS (such as Ibuprofen), St. John’s Wort, and fish oils for a week before your appointment. You will need to avoid heavy workouts, and anything heat generating (saunas and hot tubs) for 24 hours after treatment. If you have a tendency to get cold sores, please let the doctor know so that a prescription may be provided for you. If you have an allergy to lidocaine let us know and we can use fillers without lidocaine for you.
